Garage Doors Cost

Garage doors cost can range from $275 to $3500 generally. Of course it all depends on the size of the door, the quality of the door and whether you install it yourself or have it installed for you.

To give you a ball park idea of garage door costs… I included this list.

Amarr Weather Guard garage doors at Sam’s Club:

8’ x 7’. . . . . . . . $376

9’ x 7’. . . . . . . . . 418

15’-16’ x 7’ . . . . . 747

Clopay garage doors:

18’ x 8’ high door installed is about $3500 including the opener.

We bought our Clopay garage door on sale in 2006. It’s a 7’ x 16’ door. We had it installed including the opener for $2300.

There are a variety of categories including… Stock, Semi-Custom and Custom doors. Also you can choose from steel, wood, fiberglass or glass doors.

Steel garage doors are the most common because they cost the least. A fiberglass surface on a steel door with it’s wood-grain detail is gaining in popularity.

You can start with just a basic 8’ x 7’ door for around $275…that price is for the door only. If you’re looking for used garage doors another place to check is the Habitat restore.

Prices for new doors run approximately:

    Low . . . . . .$275 - 700

    Medium . . . 750 - 1700

    High-end . . 1800 - 3500 and up
