Curb Appeal Designs...
before and after
These home improvements create charming curb appeal designs for an Iowa home.
This ranch home of Larry and Paula sits in a nice subdivision just outside of a small town in Iowa. They want to make floor plan changes, add a front porch and gable roof.
The home is in a great neighborhood so these changes will be a good investment. Working with the existing windows a front porch was added and the front door was centered with the new porch and gable roof.
The small octagon window was replaced with a larger window to match the one next to it. I felt it was needed along with shutters and the window box to balance the front of the house.
Paula also wanted to see stone at the base of the columns. Exterior stone veneer is often used here and is a great way to add character to the look and feel of your home.
Shake singles were added to give the entrance architectural detail and texture. An inviting wood door with glass panels brightens the front entrance, and new garage doors add more architectural interest.
I added an exterior post lamp light as a welcoming feature when you first come up to this home. It matches the new lighting that was added to complete this ranch remodel. These design changes and the right exterior house color schemes add up to a brand new look for any home.
